My Chunky Monkey

I know I have a lot of pictures of Lydia on here, so I thought I would share the space with Wesley. Here is a new picture of Wesley, and as you can see he is becoming my "little chunky monkey". He has gained a lot of weight in the past 5 weeks. He is still such a great baby and we love him so much.

Fun at the Splash Park

We are very lucky to have a "splash park" right by our house. The splash park has a whole bunch of water spouts and sprayers for the kids to run through. The Funke's and Coleman's met us at the splash park to play one last time before the Coleman's headed back to Arizona.

Lydia and Drew ran around hand in hand for a little while, but she had a great time playing in the water with all her cousins. The splash park also has a regular playground and the kids were able to spend some time playing on that as well.

Marissa is the greatest help with all the kids and Lydia loves playing with her. Lydia spent a lot of time running through the water with her. Here is a quick video of Lydia and Marissa running through the water.

Pioneer Day

We were able to spend some time with family again this week for Pioneer Day on July 24th. We of course, had great food and desserts to eat. Sometime during the night, Lydia felt the need to dress as a princess, thus the princess dress. The fireworks show began soon after dinner. Thanks to all the boys, . . . wait I mean men for putting on a great show.

Wesley and Me.

Lydia has been a little scared of sparklers since July 4th. She accidentally dropped one on her foot that day and she wasn't wearing any shoes (I know, I know . . . I'm such a bad mom), so of course it hurt. She finally decided to take a sparkler after a lot of convincing and then held it as far away from her body as possible. You can see the worried look on her face!

Classic Skating

Lydia was able to spend some time with her cousins at Classic Skating. There were so many fun things for them to do there. They started by skating, or actually riding their scooters around the skating rink.

Next they played in the Bounce House (inflatable slides, etc.) and the Jungle, which was a huge jungle gym.

They also got to go to the waterpark there but that quickly ended when the rain started. Lydia had such a great time and baby Wesley was such a good boy the entire time.

Family Fun

The Coleman's are in town as well as Debbie's mother and sister, so we decided to have a little family get together at our house. We had a great time eating and visiting with everyone.

The kids had a great time playing in the backyard giving the "grown-ups" some time together.

Snow Already?

So, apparently Lydia is wishing it was winter time already. I went in her room to let her know that "quiet time" was over and found her asleep in her bed . . . in her snowsuit. As for me, I think I will enjoy the few months of summer we have left.

4th of July

Lydia had a great time with her cousin Sabrina for the 4th of July. Aaron, Debbie and Sabrina came over for a BBQ, some swimming and our own little fireworks show . . . thanks to Aaron. We also got a great view of the fireworks shows in the valley from a park in our neighborhood.

Sabrina and Lydia enjoying the pool.

Lydia and Sabrina jumping on poppers. They loved them.

The girls watching our oh so exciting fireworks show!

Wesley Has Joined Our Family

As most of you already know, Wesley Montero joined our family on June 20th at 8:01 am. He weighed 7lbs 2oz and was 20 inches long. We love him already, especially big sister Lydia. He has been a great baby and has already gained almost 2 lbs.

We Have Joined the Blogging World

I have finally caved in and decided to create a blog for our family! I have to admit that it is a nice way to keep everyone up to date on the Montero happenings! Hopefully I will be able to keep it updated. So, to all my blogging friends . . . I have joined the dark side.
